What the tasting notes show
TeaDB’s 2015 report found a declared 2013 Baotang very sweet, vegetal and floral, with brown-sugar impressions, but it faded quickly. Other commercial accounts describe more bitterness and a longer sweet return.
The disagreement makes stamina worth checking. An attractive first infusion doesn’t tell you how much tea remains for the rest of the session. These accounts also depend on claimed sourcing and don’t form a controlled village study.
Which Baotang?
A public infrastructure plan records an old-village name in a Banglong project. Tea writing uses both 保塘旧寨 and 保塘老寨. Their relationship shouldn’t be assumed without a local explanation.
